Acrylic on foam core 30"x 40"
I inverted a painting I was having trouble with. The runner seemed both smug and terribly innocent. The painting felt flat and too simple.
In this painting he is suspended between worlds. The Hanged Man is usually shown on a cross or a tree, but this man is no martyr. He has given something up, but I am not sure he has turned his gaze away.
